UPDATE ON FUTURE CITY COMPETITION

Eagle Rock Jr. High has one team and a home schooler will also be submitting a design. The two teams have engineers acting as mentors. The design is due Dec 6th, the essay is due Dec 12th and the state competition will be held in Boise on January 15th. There are 15 schools registered to compete in Boise for the state competition. Each school is allowed to send their 3 best teams. The regional competition is Jan 22nd in Seattle. The winner of the Boise contest will advance to Seattle. I believe we will be funding hotel and fuel for the trip to Boise for the two teams. The Boise coordinator would like me to find judges for the Boise competition. Judges can be assigned just to evaluate essays, or just the CD design or to attend the actual competition and judge the models. It was suggested that we invite the mayor and some local civic professionals to come look at the two designs early in January before they go to Boise. Karen
