Spend an interesting evening welcoming Jim Reinsch, the new ANS Vice-President for 2004-2005 and President-Elect for 2005-2006.  With more than 35 years of experience in nuclear technology, Jim will share insights about the past and a view of the future for nuclear technology. 

 

While serving as Senior Vice President of Bechtel Power, Jim was named President Bechtel Nuclear on March 15, 2000 and is responsible for all of Bechtel’s global activities in nuclear regarding profit/loss, customer relations, operations, project management, marketing, business development and global strategy. 

 

He began his successful career with Bechtel in 1969 and held increasingly responsible positions in Bechtel project management, labor relations and marketing and business development.  Jim previously managed Bechtel’s Nuclear Operating Plant Services organization and served as a Regional Manager for fossil and nuclear projects for North America.  He also has served as Country Manager for India and President of Bechtel Canada.

 

In June 2004, Jim was elected Vice President and President-Elect of the American Nuclear Society.  Engaged in nuclear issues at many levels, currently he also serves on the Board of Directors of the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI).

 

Jim earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Maryland.  Jim and his wife, Yvonne, live in Frederick, Maryland.  They have two grown children.
